Basic Studies on Risk Management of Power Grid Operation

Abstract

The development process of grid operational risk management of China Southern Power Grid Company is described in this paper, the basic concepts of grid operational risk and risk management of power grid operation is presented, and the main content of risk management is given, specifically the main approaches to risk identification, the main calculation procedure of risk assessment as well as the classification of risks are described. The main content and emphasized points at different time scales for risk identification and assessment are listed. The operational matters of risk management and critical management processes are also presented. For specific risk and annual basis risk, closed-loop risk control is illustrated. Finally recommendations to promote the development of risk management of grid operation are provided.
