Evaluation of Distributed Photovoltaic Integration Capacity of Hainan Power Grid

Evaluation of Distributed Photovoltaic Integration Capacity of Hainan Power Grid
The influence of distributed photovoltaic (PV) integration on Hainan Power Grid is studied with DIgSILENT/ PowerFactory software in terms of power quality, ecnomic operation, protection, etc. The integration capacity of distributed PV is evaluated for various typical connection forms and operatioin modes of Hainan Power Grid based on constraints of safety and economy. The results show that the PV integration capacities of the evaluated distribution networks are in the range of 20%~40% of the networks peak load; and the main factors restricting the PV integration capacity are the power factor decrease of medium-voltage distriubution networks and the three-phase imbalance of low-voltage distribution network.
