The growth character of Jinmai 74 was conducted preliminary study in order to provide supporing culture techniques with high yield for the application and dissemination of New Winter Wheat Variety Jinmai 74 With Early Maturity, High-Yield and Multiple Resistance. The results showed that there are character of growth rapidity in the early and middle period, tiller earliness and strong capacity, forming multiple ears with high percentage of earbearing tiller; beginning earliness of ear differentiation and process rapidity, forming early cropping with earing earliness for Jinmai 74. The young panicle growth and grain filling of Jinmai 74 are faster in the middle and later period. Its time of filling period is the same as check variety. It can keep away from dry heat wind, and there is high and steady grain weight. The character of strong multiple ears resulted in the culture character of wide range of sowing time and strong adaptability for this variety.
