Studies on regional suitability of two newly bred tea cultivars Mingshanzao and Mingshanbaihao in the tea areas of Jiangbei

Abstract

Using the popular cultivar,Fudingdabaicha,as CK,the experiments on the regional suitability of newly bred tea cultivars i.e.Mingshanzao and Mingshanbaihao were carried out in Xinyang. The results showed that budding stage of Mingshanzao and Mingshanbaihao equaled the CK cultivar,these cultivars are early-sprouting varity.Resistance of cold,drought of the clones was equal to that of CK cultivars. These clones were suitable for green tea.The Mingshanzao equaled the CK cultivars and Mingshanbaihao exceeded the CK in the yield. The Mingshanzao and Mingshanbaihao are suitable to introduced to the tea areas of Xinyang and Jiangbei.
