Abstract

The analysis on 187 typical tobacco growing districts of Xinyang shows that the average total salt content of irrigating water is 207.6mg/L and the average chlorine content is 28.0 mg/L. Compared four main tobacco growing districts ,the total salt and chlorine content of Huaibin is more than that of Luoshan .And that of Pingqiao is the third .Gushi is the least .The total salt content of mostly growing distract accord with tobacco production requiration .The chlorine content of irrigating water is proper in the 95.2 percent tobacco growing districts . And in the Huaibin and Luoshan is 45.0 percent and 55.6 percent respectively.
