Abstract

The seasonal aboveground biomass and soil water of bromegrass (Bromus inermis) under sole cropped and strip intercropped with Astragalus adsurgens were comparatively studied. The results showed that strip intercropping could significantly improve bromegrass productivity and postponed its green growth periods, and also could maintain upper layer soil moisture, promoted the use of lower layer soil moisture, which was favorable to soil water use and cycle.
