Abstract

we carried on cold pretreatment experiment during tomato anther culture to study the effect of cold pretreatment on microspores development during tomato anther culture in vitro. The results indicated that: Pathway B、A-V，and A-G, existed in androgenesis of tomato of which pathway B was predominent. Degeneration happened with some pollen; Cold pretreatment could delay degeneration of microspores to a certain extent and advance androgenesis; Cold pretreatment could also enhance the ratio of microspores participated in androgenesis, however pathway B increased greater than pathway A; In the early stage of culturing, cold pretreatment could increase the ratio of uninucleate microspores, which gave more chance for microspores to participate in androgenesis.
