Abstract

Genetic and mutant studies indicate that the apical dominance of plant was controlled by hormone. Auxin and cytokinin interacted with axillary bud outgrowth or reproductive development. The auxin inhibition of bud outgrowth in decapitated plants while cytokinin initiation the bud outgrowth, the ratio of the two was more important in plant architecture development. Further studies showed the other hormone such as ABA,GA also have some affection on the axillary bud growth, the phenotype of apical dominance was interaction among genotype, hormone and plant development stage.
