Abstract

Myostatin is a negative regulator of skeletal muscle growth. Using a pair of special primers to amplify the exon 3 of Myostatin gene in Qinchuan, Nanyang Beef and Piedmontese, we aimed to detect the polymorphisms of Myostatin gene. We found that it was G mutated to T at 938 point in exon 3 that made the polymorphisms of Myostatin gene in Nanyang Beef and Piedmontese.
