Inhibitory Effects of Chinese Herbal Extracts on Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Causing Anthracnose of Passiflora edulis

Inhibitory Effects of Chinese Herbal Extracts on Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Causing Anthracnose of Passiflora edulis

Abstract

Passiflora edulis is highly susceptible to anthracnose during cultivation, and preventing the outbreak of this disease has become an urgent problem to be solved in its planting process. Six kinds of Chinese herbal extracts were prepared following standard methods. The inhibitory effects of these extracts on the mycelial growth of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides (the pathogen of passion fruit anthracnose) were detected by plate culture method at different concentrations (10, 20, 30, 40, 50 mg/mL). The results showed that at a concentration of 10 mg/mL, clove extract exhibited the strongest inhibitory effect on C. gloeosporioides, with an inhibition rate of 100%, followed by the extracts of Ligusticum chuanxiong, Angelica sinensis, Alpinia officinarum and Scutellaria baicalensis, while the inhibition rate of Stemona sessilifolia extract was only 30%. When the concentration reached 50 mg/mL, both clove and Angelica sinensis extracts achieved an inhibition rate of 100%; the inhibition rates of Ligusticum chuanxiong and Alpinia officinarum extracts exceeded 90%, and those of Scutellaria baicalensis and Stemona sessilifolia extracts were 84.43% and 78.10%, respectively. The six Chinese herbal extracts showed varying inhibitory effects on C. gloeosporioides, among which clove extract had the most significant performance, maintaining a 100% inhibition rate at concentrations of 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 mg/mL, thus having great potential for the development of pesticides for the control of major diseases in P. edulis.

为开发新型植物源农药,探究油茶炭疽病的生物防治方法,以油茶炭疽病菌(Colletotrichum fructicola)为供试病原菌,采用生长速率法测定了49种植物的70种提取物对油茶炭疽病菌的抑制作用,筛选出活性较好的提取物,并通过浓度梯度试验测定其抑菌毒力。结果表明,在提取物浓度为1 mg/mL时,臭灵丹石油醚萃取物和益母草乙酸乙酯萃取物对油茶炭疽菌抑菌效果最好,抑制率分别为54.48%和50.75%,经毒力测定其有效中浓度(EC50)分别为0.7013和0.6246 mg/mL。本研究为进一步利用臭灵丹、益母草开发植物源抑菌剂提供了一定的理论依据。
