In order to disscuss the compositiopn and contents of the fatty acid in peony and chinese peony flower; as well as its utilization, the methods of esterification was used to get the oil sample and composition of fatty acid were tested by gas chromato graphy. The result indicated that the main higher fatty acids in petals were hexade canoic acid, lionlenic acid, lionleic acid and oleic acid etc.
