Elementary Study on the Mechanism of Drought Resistance of Asparagus Officilins

Abstract

The seedlings of Asparagus officinlis being retreated with different concentration of PEG-6000 were measured content of osmoticum, permeability of biomembrane and antioxydization characteristics. The results indicated that the contents of free Pro and soluble sucrose increased significantly with the increase of dealing time, and treatment of 20% PEG-6000 was the most effective; the activities of CAT, POD and SOD increased prominently under the treatment of PEG too, but the effects of the different concentrations of PEG0-6000 had little difference; the relative conductivity improved with the increase of contents of PEG and dealing time; contents of MDA increased with the longth of dealing time ,and contents of MDA significantly increased under treatment of 10%and 20%PEG.All these indexs showed that Asparagus officinlis has abilities to adapt drought stress to some extent by adjusting osmotic substance, decreasing water potential and improving water maintenance; By improving protective enzymes activity ,Asparagus officilins improved antioxydization ability to reduce damages of drought stress.
