Present Situations and Prospects of Study on Rice Drought Resistance

Abstract

This paper outlines the harms to rice caused by water stress and the advances of physiology and biochemistry mechanism of rice drought resistance on stoma adjustment, osmotic adjustment, hormone adjustment, membrane protective enzymes and drought-induced protein. And presents the situation of study on mapping drought resistance gene and drought resistance genetic engineering. The trends of study on screening drought resistance germplasm, transforming drought resistance gene to rice and setting up comprehensive cultivation technology are described.
