The Usage of the Germplasm of Reid in Breeding and Produce of Maize in China

Abstract

We have analyzed the research and appliance of germplasm of Reid from 20 centuries 70 ages to present in breeding and produce of maize in china. As a result of fine breeding lines, i.e. shen 5003,U8112, ye478, ye107, Tie7922, dan9406 etc. andmaizehybrids, i.e. yedan2, 4, 12, 13, shendan7, Benyu9, chengdan14, yayu2, Zhengdan 958, Dongdan60 etc. Came in to being great influence and made a huge contribution about breeding study and produce apply of maize in China, Breeding expert of maize took advantage of Reid cross Lüda Reid cob, sipingtou, Lancaster, P78599, composite subgroup and Suwan subgroup etc. In this period, it is main heterotic patterns to go on utilizing old and founding new ones.
