Mapping QTLs for blast resistance in recombination inbred line derived from Waixuan35 and Qisizhan

Abstract

A recombination inbred line derived from Waixuan35,a blast resistant rice material adopted widely in South China in 80~90’s, and Qisizhan , the earliest good eating quality variety in Guangdong, were constructed for QTL analysis of blast resistance. Rice blast pathogen strains, ZC-13 and ZC-15, were collected from Guangdong rice regions,and separated by single spore separation. The materials’ blast resistance was identified with single strain inoculation. 2 QTLs on RM117-RM179 have been detected with Mapmaker/exp 3.0 and QTLmapper 2.0. By testing the other 7 resistant cultivars derived from waixuan35, locus RM117 and RM179 come from Waixuan35. This result confirms the conclusion that Interval RM117-RM179 contains important resistant loci.
