The Investigation of the Adaptability and Introduction of Taiwan’s Soft-branch Carambola (Psidium guajava L.)

Abstract

The characteristics of biology,the adaptability and the economic profit of some varieties of carambola are investigated, the result shows that Taiwan’s soft-branch and Spicy-sweet carambola are suitable to growing in Zhangzhou,especially the Taiwan’s soft-branch carambola. It’s average weight is 210 g, total soluble solids are 8.5%, total acids are 0.04%, average seeds are 10. The fruits all year round is with excellent quality and the price of 6~8yuan/kg. And some corresponding cultivation techniques of it are introduced in this paper.
