A Summary on Sugarcane Hybrid Reliability Identification

Abstract

Sugarcane is the most important sugar crop not only in China but also all over the world. The choose of breeds pays important roles in the development of Sugarcane, at the same time, identifications of somatic hybrids in sugarcane is of consequence measure to choose new breeds. This paper summarized the present research of four genetic markers on sugarcane hybrid reliability identification, including morphological marker identification, cytological marker identification, biochemical marker identification and molecular marker identification. Their advantage and disadvantage were pointed out and their applied prospect to sugarcane hybrid research was discussed.
