Abstract

Border cells, which shed from root cap and deposit in the periphery of roots, are some uniquely differentiated cells. They play crucial roles during the plant’s growth and development. This papergives a summary of the progress of studies on characteristics of border cells, development of border cells and physiological functions. The prospect of the development of border cells has been forecasted.
